Accessibility Statement

ACKitchen wants everyone to be able to browse our menus, learn about our meal plans and place an order on ackitchen.com, including people with disabilities and people who use assistive technology. We treat accessibility as an ongoing part of how we build and maintain this website.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) explain how to make web content easier to use for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, hearing, motor, speech and cognitive disabilities.

We consider ackitchen.com partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This means most of the site meets the standard, but some content does not fully conform yet. We describe the known gaps below.

What we do

  • We review the site regularly with automated accessibility testing tools and fix the issues they find.
  • We build pages with structured headings, labeled form fields, text alternatives for meaningful images, and keyboard-accessible controls.
  • We check that text and form controls have enough color contrast to be read comfortably.
  • Videos that play automatically can be paused, and we pause them for visitors who turn on the "reduce motion" setting on their device.
  • We consider accessibility when we design and add new pages and features.

Recent improvements

In October 2026 we completed an accessibility review of ackitchen.com and made the following changes:

  • Darkened secondary text and form field outlines so they meet WCAG contrast requirements.
  • Added pause controls to the autoplaying videos on our About page.
  • Gave product option menus and other controls accessible names for screen reader users.
  • Made the Google reviews rating link match its visible label so speech-control software can find it.
  • Fixed list markup on product pages and added image descriptions to blog posts.

Known limitations

  • Third-party features. Some parts of the site are provided by other companies, including Shopify checkout, the chat widget, the subscription management portal and links to our Google Business Profile. We do not control their code. If you have trouble with one of them, please contact us and we will help you directly.
  • Older content. Some older blog posts and product images may not have complete text descriptions yet. We are updating them as we go.

Compatibility

ackitchen.com is designed to work with current versions of major web browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge) and with common assistive technologies, including screen readers such as VoiceOver, NVDA and JAWS, screen magnification, and speech recognition software. It may not work as well in older browsers.

  • what you were trying to do and what went wrong, and
